S.J. Maylee

S. J. Maylee fell in love with storytelling at a young age and with it came a deep-seated desire for everyone to find their happily ever after. She’s finding the happy endings for her characters one steamy story at a time. When she’s not reading or writing, you can find her caring for her garden, laughing with her two young sons, or dancing to her husband’s music. She’s a PMP (Project Management Professional), Nia instructor, and coffee addict. As a writer she has a tendency to break hearts, but she always glues them back together.

Body Politics (Rod and Cane Society, #3) - Cara Bristol Loved this story. A strong heroine and hero who challenges her. Swoon. This book has so many things to love. Real characters that make you feel and pull you with them on their journey. Stephanie tried to run away after their first encounter, but Mark chases and tempts her. The end result is hot and completely combustible and that's just the first few pages. The book continues at a page turning pace, with conflict and fears, desire, heartbreaking misfortune, and love.
Sometimes books contain conflict that feels forced, but you won't find that here, nope. You'll find characters that are true and filled with life. Cara doesn't force her characters to be something they're not. At one point Mark thinks of Stephanie, "Obedient, yet still rebellious. She would make his life interesting. If ever a woman deserved to be spanked and then kissed senseless, she did." Oh yeah and does he ever come through on his thoughts. The story is hot and leaves you satisfied.
Body Politics is a must read and more than worthy of a five-star rating.
